Kiln ServicesProviding expert services in the field of Kiln Alignment Services, Allan Smith Engineering is known among the topnotch companies. We are supported by an excellent team of mechanical engineers who have a rich experience for more than 100 slow-speed rotary machines, for both trouble shoot and alignment of recurring mechanical jobs. Our method is studied for particular requirement of the slow speed rotary machines. It is especially designed to align two pier-supported system. It is effective in mechanically stabilize of the equipments supported by two pier. The method has been designed after a thorough study of a number of pre alignment and post alignment jobs on two pier supported equipments. Thus, this is an absolute alignment system. In the floating point alignment method, we try to bring all the four floating points on a plane of reference to accomplish uniform load sharing, with the help of support rollers. Alignment of two pier rotary drum can be reached by placing all the support rollers equidistant from the center of base frame provided, following states are met:-
With
aforesaid points, it is easy to align the dryer by placing the
plumber blocks equal from centers of base frame. We can reach plan
view as well as elevation alignment. However in practice, it is
challenging to meet the above requirements. This requires rotary drum
alignment and the best possible method, such as floating point
alignment.
What is Floating Point? While operating in normal operation, the rotary equipments move up and down. Drum also expands because of heat. As a result, centers or points at support stations are never at preset positions. Due to drum expansion, the center or points floats from its position, wear or travel, and incorrect aligning of the support rollers. These points are known as floating points. A fine alignment is attained when floating points are carried to a known slope plane. In fact, the support rollers are so placed that floating points stay on the same plane, and are proportionately loaded. |
